What's new in CSMA's New Media Program?
5 Types of Classes
New Media Tutoring – Private or Partner InstructionStudents of all ages and skill levels may study in one-on-one or paired sessions with our New Media Coordinator. Weekly, one-hour sessions (by arrangement with instructor) provide the expert, professional instruction that you need to develop projects, learn skills and experiment with diverse software. Contact CSMA's Digital Art Coordinator to discuss how you can benefit from an individualized program specially tailored to your creative goals! Sampler Sundays One-day workshops offered on select Sundays throughout the year provide individuals and families the opportunity to learn digital skills in a specific area of New Media. Workshops for ages 9 through adults provide instruction in photography, movie-making, DJ skills, more!

New Media Drop-In Class All students enrolled at CSMA may take one New Media drop-in class
free of charge.
Download the flier for the complete list. Students of all ages may choose from creative classes covering a range of digital music and art topics. Attendance in Drop-In Classes is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Download the flier for information about currently offered New Media drop-in classes (days/times/descriptions).
Core Curriculum Classes CSMA private music lesson students may enroll free of charge in two New Media classes (or one Music class) each semester (except summer). Weekly Core Curriculum Classes offer students of all ages the opportunity to expand learning and creative experience in both digital music and art. Classes are also open on a space-available basis to other enrollees at the tuition price listed in the catalog.

Open Media Lab Designated one-hour, supervised New Media Open Lab time is provided for private music lesson students to work on a project, try software, or have questions answered by a professional New Media instructor. Time is available on a drop-in, space-available, first-come, first-serve basis.

New Software
Not only have we completely redesigned the program, we've updated our most popular software to the newest versions.
On 11 workstations, both Mac and Windows, we've updated to:
*Adobe CS3 Design Premium (includes Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, more)
*Reason 4
*Sibelius 5
We offer instruction in the following Open Source programs:
*Audacity
*SuperCollider
*Processing
Other classes include instruction in:
*ProTools
*Corel Painter
*Making Music
*Finale
